Polymer clay lentils (so-called because of their shape) in coordinating sets of 5. They are soft enough to drill using  a hand drill or a dremel. Many options include from side to side along the outer edge above the center line or at it, top drilled only for adding a pendant bail, or from front to back. Or no hole at all–use seed beads to create a bezel or wire wrap them!
